Tiny delicate lines and dots make up the stunning wood stack artwork on this puzzle. Perfect for puzzlers who enjoy looking for small patterned sections. Celebrate winter with this 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle featuring art from Benjamin Degen!

As a woodworker, the artist Degen was trained to look carefully at the grain in each piece of wood to understand how it grew as a tree before fitting it into a piece of furniture: every tree-ring recording a year on earth and a season of growth.

Woodpile was such a fun puzzle to work on. I found this to be a great blend of challenge and enjoyment. There are many small intricate and beautiful patterns in this puzzle. I found it really satisfying to sort the pieces into little piles based on the specific color and pattern combinations for each log. I typically do a full color sort at the beginning of puzzles and for the most part that's what I did here (though I did move a decent amount of pieces to a mixed sort tray). If you aren't the type to sort, you should still expect to enjoy this puzzle as poking through the mixed pieces to find the right piece would still be really satisfying and fun with this puzzle.

For me, I made steady progress while puzzling this. There are a lot of different color combinations in the patterns so when I looked at a piece I found it relatively easy to spot the other pieces it belonged with. It wasn't easy, but I also never found this to be hard. Your mileage may vary, but I hope that this puzzle is equally (or more) as enjoyable to everyone who purchases it as it was for me.

If you haven't tried a Lininus puzzle, the pieces are a decently thick grey-board with a soft-touch matte finish. I really enjoy the cut of these puzzles, it's a varied grid cut that has a decent amount of variety that I didn't come across any false fits (not that it's not possible - my experience just didn't have any). My favorite pieces someone described online as a 'batman' piece which I thought was pretty clever way to describe their pointy shape. The piece fit is reasonable, but not overly snug. You can move pretty large sections around, but you'll want to move them with care or expect some pieces to drop off. Lininus puzzles come with a folded color reference poster where the art is approx 13.25x9.5". The pieces come in a plastic bag and the puzzle packaging has an artist bio on the back and the inner lid has some additional imagery by the artist. Note, expect some puzzle dust.
