Angelina Quic Ixtamer was born in San Juan La Laguna, Guatemala. As the first woman in her village to paint with oils, she faced severe criticism as artistic painting was regarded as exclusive to men. She ignored her detractors and persevered, eventually creating her signature style, ‘vista de pájaro’, or, ‘bird’s eye view.’ Donations from the sale of this puzzle will go to Taa’ Pi’t Taa’ Pi’t is a Mayan Tz’utujil community organization based on knowledge, wisdom, and ancestral practices to raise awareness among their children, and families, that their health depends on the agricultural soil, and the ancient seeds of their land.
